Mode One’s (MO-FL-005) is designed to be a 12″ fishing fillet knife. The blade’s shape is inspired by a cimeter style butcher knife that is designed to cut steaks. This shape is becoming very popular for fishing fillet knives because it allows for a nice clean cutting stroke. The fishing fillet knife’s full tang provides great rigidity and stability. The full tang is not seen in many fishing fillet knives but is essential for the strength and balance of the knife. The blade’s thickness is thicker at the handle and tapers to thinner at the tip. This makes the flex of the blade uniform while maintaining strength throughout. There is jimping along the top side of the tang that provides grip in slippery conditions.

Durability of The Fishing Fillet Knives

The handle is ergonomically designed to be comfortable in your hand however you may hold the knife.  The handle scales are made of G10 composite material that is textured for grip. The G10 handle scales are very durable, tough, and can put up with a lot of abuse and are also very easy to clean.  The knife’s weight is shifted toward the butt of the handle which allows for better control over the tip of the blade and causes less fatigue in the hand. There is a lanyard hole located at the end of the handle for convenience and personal preference.
